GM Statement on EMA Litigation Challenging California Air Resources Board’s Omnibus Low-Nox Regulations

2022-06-30

The Truck and Engine Manufacturers Association (EMA) has filed a lawsuit to delay the implementation of the California Heavy-Duty Omnibus (HDO) clean truck regulation. Although GM is a member of the Truck and Engine Manufacturers Association, GM opted out of this litigation in February 2022 and is not involved. GM supports emissions standards and complementary policies that will help accelerate the transition to zero-emissions vehicles and reduce air pollution.

GM has not wavered from its vision of an all-electric, zero-emissions future and has laid out its plan to be carbon neutral by 2040 in global products and operations. In support, GM is investing more than $35 billion in electric and autonomous vehicles through 2025 and will launch 30 EVs in that timeframe.

We will continue to support clean energy policies that accelerate the adoption of electric vehicles and will establish the U.S. as a global leader in electrification today and into the future, and will encourage investment, growth and job creation.
